The Ultimate Checklist: How to Prepare Your Home for a Cat Sitter

Cats are famously independent, but that doesn't mean they don't miss you when you're gone! When you book cat drop-in visits with Molly's Happy Tails, my goal is to keep your feline friends as relaxed, pampered, and happy as possible.

To ensure everything goes smoothly while you are away, I have put together this handy preparation checklist for your home:

  • Stock Up on the Favourites: Ensure you have enough of their usual wet and dry food, plus a few extra days' worth just in case your travel plans change. Don't forget the treats!

  • Fresh Litter: Leave a full bag of their usual cat litter near the tray, along with the scoop and some disposal bags.

  • The Comfort Zone: Leave a piece of unwashed clothing (like a t-shirt or jumper) in their favourite sleeping spot. Your scent is incredibly comforting to them while you are away.

  • Vet Details on Display: While I am Pet First Aid Trained and will collect your vet details during our initial Meet & Greet consultation, it is always best practice to leave their pet insurance documents and vet address on the kitchen counter.

  • Toy Box Tour: Leave their favourite toys out in the open! Part of being a 5 Star Rated Cat Sitter in Hertfordshire means I love dedicating time during my visits to interactive play.

Unlike traditional catteries, in-home cat sitting means your cat gets to rule their own roost without the stress of travel or strange smells.
